Rob Hindle

Rob Hindle is a leading advisor to rural estates and other land-owning businesses and organisations, specialising in estate‑scale strategy, rural development, land-use change, regenerative land management and nature-based solutions.

After qualifying as a chartered surveyor, he began his career working closely with farmers and landowners and later established his own practice, Rural Innovation, specialising in rural development and was widely engaged by public sector bodies and partnership organisations responding to the Foot & Mouth crisis in 2001. In 2012, Rural Innovation merged with Rural Solutions, and since then Rob’s professional work has focussed on visioning and strategic planning for estates and other land-based enterprises and shaping concepts and delivery plans for a wide range of rural development projects.

A core thread of Rob’s work is supporting landowners to navigate the transition towards more regenerative forms of land use and management. This includes integrating regenerative agriculture, nature recovery, landscape restoration, and low‑carbon land use within coherent estate‑scale strategies that balance environmental outcomes with long‑term financial resilience. His work increasingly sits at the intersection of land management, planning policy, and natural capital, helping estates respond to emerging policy frameworks such as Environmental Land Management schemes and the developing National Land Use Framework.

Alongside shaping long‑term strategies, Rob leads multi‑disciplinary teams designing and delivering complex rural projects, with a particular emphasis on systems‑based approaches to land use change that deliver for food production, nature, climate adaptation, and rural communities.
