Love British Food: Stronger working together

Written by Future Countryside | May 27, 2026 3:10:49 PM

Love British Food is unique in working at grassroots and industry level to boost the domestic market for British food, encouraging sustainable supply chains that make good food available for all. This is our 25th anniversary year, a milestone to reflect upon our role as a leading voice promoting British food and the fact that our activities have been proven to deliver benefits to communities across the country.

How do we do this? We are passionate about creating a vibrant market for British food that gives our farmers the confidence to invest in food production as a core part of the management of the countryside. We have become a uniquely trusted voice in the public sector being the longest serving representative of the British food and farming on the Public Sector Catering Alliance; our priority is to ensure British food is the first supplier of choice for schools, hospitals, care homes, universities and other public organisations. Our programme of farm visits for caterers has pioneered a new appreciation of the value of British food to the supply chain; and in particular an understanding of the role of livestock in sustainable menus. Our flag-bearer event, British Food Fortnight, is an established part of the national calendar and reaches millions every autumn. And we are proud in particular of our role in establishing the National Harvest Service, with the support of Her Majesty The Queen, that takes place in a different city every year.

In all we do, we are deeply collaborative in our core and believe passionately that everyone involved in food and farming is stronger working together. This is what Future Countryside is all about and why we are proud to be a partner this year.
